Currently, many small-to-medium enterprises in the agricultural processing sector rely on traditional drying methods. This lack of standardized cold-chain logistics for pollen leads to significant waste and inconsistent quality in processed botanical extracts used in local food supplements.
The demand for specialized agricultural inputs is rising as Sri Lanka shifts toward high-value export crops. This transition necessitates a move from raw material gathering to the use of stabilized, industrial-grade forms like the pollen block, which offers superior shelf-life and dosage precision.
