Venezuela possesses a rich tropical biodiversity, yet the industrial processing of plant pollen has historically been fragmented. Local farmers often rely on natural pollination, which is increasingly unstable due to shifting weather patterns in the Orinoco basin and the Andean highlands.
The current market sees a growing demand for standardized white pollen to stabilize seed production in commercial vegetable and fruit processing. However, a lack of cold-chain infrastructure often leads to the rapid degradation of biological materials before they reach the processing plant.
Economically, there is a transition toward importing high-stability pollen block products that can withstand the local humidity and temperature fluctuations, reducing waste and increasing the efficiency of hybrid crop development.
